Empathy, Compassion and Burnout Prevention

Academic Mentors Meeting

Mentors,

Serving God through ministry and working in the care professions is a privilege that brings abundant satisfaction, but meeting people in their places of pain and struggle can also take a toll on us. Research is telling us that people like us and our students are at high risk of burnout, and without adequate self-care approaches, the question is not "if" we will burnout, but "when".

That is why we are excited to invite you to our next Academic Mentor (virtual) gathering on Thursday, May 12. Dr. Estera Boldut will be presenting on "Empathy, Compassion and Burnout," followed by a time for open discussion with her, other academic mentors, and Northwest faculty.

Dr. Boldut is delighted to share with us fascinating findings from the field of neuroscience and social psychology and she will bring practical advice on how to create a rhythm of life that helps prevent burnout.

The session will be offered twice on May 12, once at noon PST and the second at 3:30 pm PST.
