Big changes are happening at Northwest - and we want you to be part of the journey.

Dear friends,

I'm thrilled to share some exciting updates from Northwest College and Seminary. My name is Krista Ewert, and I'm honoured to step into the role of Director of Advancement. You might be wondering, What exactly is Advancement? In short, it's anything that helps move the mission of Northwest forwardwhether through marketing, fundraising, or building meaningful relationship with supporters like you. The Fellowship is woven into my storyI grew up at South Delta Baptist Church, spent countless summers at Camp Qwanoes, and later served in a Fellowship church in Edmonton.

Over the past three months, I've been deeply inspired by stories of how God is working through our students and alumnitransforming lives and impacting churches both locally and globally. As we look to the future, I want to reaffirm our commitment to this mission, even as we navigate some new developments, including a recent shift involving Trinity Western University.

In this edition:
  • Our next chapter
  • Sneak peek at our refreshed visual identity
  • Invitation to a special online event

What does the next chapter of Northwest College and Seminary look like?

I am excited to step into this new chapter together, full of faith and anticipation for what God will do next. Barton has updated you on the closure of ACTS and wrote in his last President's Pen, "During this pivotal moment, we are committed to leading into the future with clarity of vision, strategic planning, financial sustainability, and a renewed dedication to serving our stakeholdersespecially Fellowship Pacific." I want to reiterate this commitment and believe that our new brand is the public expression of our clear vision of Learning to Lead like Jesus. It reminds us of our true North as we pray for God's direction and guidance.

We have also learned since Barton's last report, that Trinity Western University has acquired Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago. We are unclear as to the implications of this transition but are confident that God is holding this all together.

The same but new Northwest

As Barton said, we want to lead into the future with clarity. We undertook a rebranding process to ensure that how others experience our brand reflects who we are and what we value. Our mission is to equip effective Christ-like leaders in and beyond the Fellowship through theological education. As an organization we seek to be trustworthy, empowering, relational, visionary, and transformational. We want our visual identity to reflect that we are rooted, fresh, authentic, unconventional, and bold. We are the same Northwest of years past with a fresh new look:
I am so grateful to the design team comprised of Northwest faculty, staff, students, and alumni for the hard work and collaboration it took to set the voice, tone, and visual identity that will launch Northwest into a new chapter.

You're invited to our online gathering - Northwest's New Chapter

May 22, 2025, 11:30 am - 12:30 pm
The attention to detail and patience that was poured into the rebranding process is too much to fit into this email. I invite you to attend an online event on May 22 at 11:30 am PT. We will share about the process, new brand, and future in general. Maybe you are asking questions like:
  • Why is Northwest changing its name again?
  • What is the weird notch on the yellow "o"?
  • How will the closing of ACTS affect Northwest?
  • How will TWU's acquisition of TEDS affect Northwest?
  • How can I support Northwest at this time?
Then this event is for you.

Register before May 16th and be entered to win a new Northwest T-shirt!
We look forward to connecting with you!

In Christ,
Krista Ewert
Director of Advancement
