Andrew Cropped

Andrew Devanbu

Academic Coordinator | CBTE

Andrew's life mission is simple: he wants to see the church thrive, though he'd also settle for finding a good hot bowl of chicken corn soup. As Academic Coordinator for the Competency-Based Theological Education programs at Northwest College & Seminary, he brings that same "let's make this actually work" energy to helping students grow into ministry and scholarship, one competency at a time. Ask him about the historical context behind a Bible passage and clear your schedule, he will be delighted, and so, eventually, will you. With about eight years of pastoral experience, Andrew genuinely loves helping students grow, not just in what they know, but in who they're becoming. He also teaches Biblical Hermeneutics at churches, which is a fancy way of saying he helps people read the Bible well without accidentally starting a new denomination. Given the opportunity, Andrew is off traveling with his wife Ruth and their children, usually with a strong opinion about where to eat next, as he enjoys good food and company.
