Workshop Description: We are surrounded by media rich content wherever we go. We can’t ignore it, or how powerful or how important it is to communicate a message. At Northwest Seminary we want to help you to get to grips with the tools that professionals use. We need to be able to create content that works.

 

If you’ve ever thought that you’d like to make a video, but really have no idea how to start then perhaps this basic introduction to video course, designed by Northwest, is for you.

 

With a professional instructor, Andy Watkins, you’ll be guided through the production process from start to finish. We will do this over two days.

 

This is a hands-on workshop so you get to operate the equipment to understand how it works: cameras, lights, and sound. And you get to be part of the crew in all of these areas. It’s a process from concept to delivery. The best way we have found to help you learn is to actually shoot and edit a short video to give you the confidence to go out and create meaningful content yourself.

Andy Watkins, Instructor: Andy Watkins has made his living as a professional video and television producer and filmmaker for over 35 years, directing and producing advertisements, documentaries, infomercials, promotional and training programs for clients including, Rolls Royce, British Aerospace, Lotus Cars, Wycliffe, The God Channel, Regent College, and Focus on the Family. He has also supplied media and worked with independent TV stations in the UK including the BBC.

 

Andy has provided valuable input to churches enabling many Christian ministries to succeed in television production operating on terrestrial and satellite platforms across the world. He is knowledgeable, skilled, and experienced, with a passion for teaching and guiding others to enhance their own video production skills.
