Workshop Description: How to make a video – Building blocks to get you started
“Sunday is fast approaching and we still need to make a video!”
Have you been in this position? You need to make a video and there are no resources available to help you get the job done. You’ve watched countless YouTube videos, they all look wonderful, but you can’t seem to put it all together. You wish someone would just explain terms, guide you through the process, answer questions, and help you get to the point where you feel confident to produce a basic video, or give good direction to someone else about what you need.
The desire to connect is important and sharing the right skills and resources to tell a story in an effective and meaningful way is key. Whether you’re producing an event announcement, telling a story, or creating a video podcast, book review, or training video, the process is the same.
This workshop prepares novice video makers for creative video production. Andy Watkins, with decades of experience, will guide you through the basics of technology and terms, and teach you how to shoot effective video using well-proven tools and techniques. You will identify a need, creatively design a solution, practice a proven video production process, and craft an edited video. The elements are the same for any creative process, because it’s all about good planning.

Instructor Biography
Andy Watkins has made his living as a professional video and television producer and filmmaker for over 35 years, directing and producing advertisements, documentaries, infomercials, promotional and training programs for clients including Rolls Royce, British Aerospace, Lotus Cars, Wycliffe, The God Channel, Regent College, and Focus on the Family. He has also supplied media and worked with independent TV stations in the UK including the BBC.
Andy has provided valuable input to churches enabling many Christian ministries to succeed in television production operating on terrestrial and satellite platforms across the world. He is knowledgeable, skilled, and experienced, with a passion for teaching and guiding others to enhance their own video production skills.
