Purpose:

Learners who receive the Master of Arts in Biblical Leadership (MABL) will be equipped to develop biblically grounded, theologically formed, and culturally engaged leaders who demonstrate competence in biblical interpretation and contextual application of biblical principles in their vocation, community, and culture.

Program Learning Objectives:

• Objective 1 - Teach Scripture using a discovery process through which people develop culturally relevant, biblically-based and Christ-centered theological understanding so that they live their lives as contextualized expressions of God's kingdom.
• Objective 2 - Capably participate in a disciple-making intercultural team guided by a kingdom-oriented vision and multiplying mindset that empowers believers to be disciple-makers in a group setting.
• Objective 3 - Address challenges to faith and ministry with sound biblical knowledge, humility, grace, self-awareness, and cultural sensitivity.
• Objective 4 - Engage in cross-cultural ministry with a deep faith in Jesus, a conspicuously spiritual lifestyle and impacting interpersonal relationships coupled with sociological analysis and theological reflection (ministry praxis framework).
• Objective 5 - Be both influential and receptive to guidance and direction while demonstrating self-awareness, social management skills and a servant’s heart.
• Objective 6 - Contextualize, communicate, and apply biblical principles in culturally appropriate ways that respects the language, values, and beliefs of the insiders.
• Objective 7 - Persevere in the face of opposition and suffering with the ability to respond appropriately to complexity, challenge, and/or conflict.

• Endorsement from your ministry leadership team
• Approval from your network/denomination leadership
• One of the following
  • An undergraduate degree from an accredited institution with at least a 2.50 GPA OR
  • Age 28 with at least 60 credits of undergraduate studies (min 2.50 GPA) showing, upon review by Admissions and/or the Northwest Dean’s Office, achievement of the knowledge, character, and skill competencies needed to enter and excel in a graduate-level CBTE program at Northwest OR
  • Age 28 or older (or to the discretion of the Academic Dean) with life and/or ministry experience showing, upon review by Admissions and/or the Northwest Dean’s Office, achievement of the knowledge, character, and skill competencies needed to enter and excel in a graduate-level CBTE program at Northwest

Assessment

Northwest, potentially in partnership with the Mission Agency with which you serve, will assess your ministry and academic readiness for this program.

Those who successfully complete the assessment process are invited to apply to the CBTE Master of Arts in Biblical Leadership - Intercultural Ministry degree.
