If learning to lead like Jesus is Northwest's mission, then how does life-long learning fit into that?
Not too long ago, we conducted surveys and interviews with you, the churches, pastors, ministry leaders, and disciples we exist to serve and help equip to do the work God has called you to do. We received lots of insights from that research, but one thing we learned inspired the launch of Northwest’s new Life-Long Learning initiative.
We discovered a lot of people are aware of and engaged in our degree programs, but also, a lot of people are wondering if we offer accessible, affordable, specialized, and formative learning opportunities and resources beyond our degree programs. Shortly after we heard that, Life-Long Learning at Northwest was born, and it’s here to offer you opportunities and resources that can help all of us to learn to lead like Jesus.

But what’s different about this initiative is that you don’t have to come to us to do the learning (you can do it online). You don’t have enrol in a two-, three-, or four-year program (you can pick what you want to do and miss what you don’t). And, you don’t have to break your bank or professional development budget to get learning experiences, content, and in some cases academic credit for things that help you do the rewarding—and let’s be honest, sometimes difficult—God has called you to do. What this looks like practically is:
- Theology symposiums
- Ministry workshops
- Conferences
- Podcasts and YouTube videos
- Journal articles
- Micro-courses
- And, a lot more
But whatever Life-Long Learning is offering, the offering is for you—churches, pastors, ministry leaders, and disciples—it’s here to help all of us to continue learning to lead like Jesus, and we’re going to where you are so that you can grow wherever you are.
