PRESENTER INFORMATION
Dr. Jonathan Numada has worked in cross-cultural ministry, primary and secondary education, and the private sector. He worked as an adjunct instructor before joining Northwest Baptist Seminary’s faculty full time. Jonathan enjoys studying Korean language and culture and researching issues related to contemporary culture, Septuagint, and Hellenistic Judaism. Dr. Numanda has a BTh from Prairie College, his MTS from Trinity Western Seminary (ACTS), and a PhD in Christian Theology from McMaster Divinity College.
Dr. Don Chang is Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies at Northwest Seminary and College. He holds a Ph.D. in Religions and Theology from the University of Manchester, UK and is the author of Phinehas, the Sons of Zadok, and Melchizedek: Priestly Covenant in Late Second Temple Texts (Bloomsbury T&T Clark). He teaches various OT and NT subjects, which include Hermeneutics, OT Exegesis, NT Exegesis, Expositions of Genesis, Isaiah, Galatians, and Hebrews for both English and Korean speaking students in ACTS of TWU. He is currently co-authoring with Dr. Numada two commentaries on 1 Maccabees for Baylor Handbook series and Society of Biblical Literature Commentary on the Septuagint series. He has been involved in various local church ministries as an assistant and lead pastor in Korea and Canada and continues to serve local Korean immigrant churches in the Greater Vancouver area.
Dr. Archie Spencer has developed an international reputation as a scholar, speaker and theologian; including Catholic circles where he has developed an ecumenical dialogue with the lay movement, “Communion and Liberation”, and the Italian Theologian, Luigi Giussani. Archie’s ministry and professional experience includes serving as a pastor in various settings within the Pentecostal and Baptist contexts for over 15 years. While teaching, he has continued to remain active in the local church through various preaching engagements, seminars, men’s retreats. Dr. Spencer loves engaging the church as she thinks through her theological and missional mandate. He can be contacted for speaking engagements through the Speakers’ Bureau.
